Gerald Cruickshank
Gerald Cruickshank entered the insurance industry in 1989, starting at British American Insurance Company Limited as a Sales Representative. He was promoted to Unit Manager in 1995 and then to Agency Manager in 1997, where he served as an Agency Manager for 18 years. In March 2015, he joined Pan American Life Insurance Trinidad as an Agency Manager, a position he still maintains.
In addition to his work as an Agency Manager, he is also the Managing Director of GDC Financial Services Limited a company formed in June 2004 offering a range of General Insurance Financial Services to businesses and the public of Trinidad & Tobago.
Throughout his career, he has qualified for MDRT and attended The Million Dollar Round Table meetings and, qualified and attended a number of company conventions, where he has acquired valuable knowledge and training that would have helped to shape and accentuate his career.
Gerald has successfully completed several Company Professional Sales Training Courses and has completed the Agency Management Training Course (AMTC) and the Insurance & Financial Advisors Training Course (IFATC).
He has served his industry in various capacities and is currently the Immediate Past President of Trinidad and Tobago Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors (TTAIFA) which presently has over 1,200 active members. He also holds the position of Education Chairman of TTAIFA National Board Management Committee and is now an Executive Member of The Caribbean Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (CARAIFA) where he is the Regional Congress Coordinator. He is also a past chairman of CARAIFA’s Foundation.
A certified TTAIFA Moderator and Train the Trainer, Gerald has moderated several courses through TTAIFA for the Canadian Life Underwriters (CLU) and now The American College through the Caribbean Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors (CARAIFA).
Gerald is married and a father of three children. He is advocate for underprivileged children and would like to see free health care, free education plus free sporting activities from kindergarten to tertiary level education for all children become a reality throughout the Caribbean Region because they are our future leaders.
