Earl Moore – 2004

Mr. Earl Moore is married with five children and is of Jamaican heritage. His professional and business history is extensive.

Looking back in time Mr. Moore entered the industry in 1968 where he was worked with The Jamaica Mutual Life Assurance Society as Supervisor for Group & Pension until 1970. He moved through the years from a Life Underwriter with Mutual Life to a Unit Manager in 1975, then Branch Manager in 1978. A position that he held for 10 years before being made an Executive Branch Manager for the next 3 years.

In 1991, Mr. Moore became the Assistant Vice President Sales and Marketing of Mutual Life and moved to actual Vice President in 1992, a position he held for four years from 1992 to May 1996.

From 1997 to 1998, Mr. Moore was President of Firm Insurance Brokers and then Vice President Sales and Marketing for Guardian Holding Ltd from December 1998 to July 1999. From August 1999 to present he has been the President and CEO of Guardian Life in Jamaica.

Mr. Moore’s educational achievements have honed his management as well as industry skills.

He holds an Executive Masters in Business Administration from the University of the West Indies; has industry training in the Life Underwriting and holds such designations as: Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Fellow of the Life Management Institute (FLMI). He has attended many certificate courses with Life Insurance Marketing & Research Association (LIMRA) and holds a certificate from Harvard Business School in Competition & Strategy.

Throughout his years of service and management in the industry he has been awarded for his contributions by various institutions. He has received numerous production awards such as: Salesman of the Year, Rookie of the Year and Qualifier for the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT). As a manager he has been recognized with such awards as the Master Branch award and the National Management award. For contributions to the industry he was named the Life Underwriters Association of Jamaica (LUAJ) Member of the year for 1993.

Mr. Moore continues to have a lot of industry and community involvement and in 2004 he was appointed Justice of the Peace, St. Andrew.

Some of the positions he has held over the years include, Director of The Institute for Theological and Leadership Development; Director, American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM); Director Insurance Association of Caribbean (IAC); President, Life Underwriters Association of Jamaica (LUAJ); Director, Caribbean Association of Life Underwriters (CALU, as we were formerly known); Vice President, Life Insurance Manager & General Agents Association (LIMGAA). Currently he is the President of the Life Insurance Company Association (LICA) in Jamaica.
