St. Vincent and the Grenadines Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors
Formation
During the mid 1970s the managers of the Life and General Insurance companies came together with the hope of forming an Insurance Association.
After six months of futile efforts the formation was abandoned.
Early in 1992 a group of Life Insurance managers met through the instrumentality of Mr Syd Hazell, (manager of Life of Barbados) for the formation of a Life Underwriters Association. On August 05th a committee was appointed to study the constitutions of Trinidad and Tobago, St Lucia and Grenada as the basis of preparing a draft suitable to our local culture. On the 26th of the same month the draft was amended, accepted and adopted at the office of Colonial Life Insurance.
On September 24th with (15) fifteen persons the Life Underwriters Association of St Vincent and the Grenadines was launched.

Education was the first order of business, since no one had initiated any form of studies up to this point, and begun with the LUATC semesters 1 &2
Over the past sixteen plus years there have been six other presidents. Presidents like George Frederick who had three terms and Stanley Browne with two stints had five terms.
Looking back over the years with the exception of Education, no other project has ever taken off, although there were always good intentions
