Cancellation & Deferral Process

Cancellation of Courses

Students requesting cancellation of their course registration MUST send a written request to the CARAIFA Secretariat via their local Association NO LATER THAN ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE START OF CLASSES (as per CARAIFA’s schedule) for that course in order to be eligible for a refund of their registration fee. All refunds are subject to an administrative penalty plus any applicable shipping and handling cost associated with the cancellation.

Note well, the course material must be returned to the Local Association still sealed in order to be eligible for the refund. Any requests for cancellations after the deadline will be denied and no refund will be given under any circumstances. All approved refunds will be credited to local Associations accounting held at the CARAIFA Secretariat and notification sent to the local association, who will in turn refund the student as per their specified timelines.

Deferral of Courses

Students requesting deferral of their course registration MUST send a written request to the CARAIFA Secretariat via their local Association NO LATER THAN ONE WEEK PRIOR TO THE START OF CLASSES (as per CARAIFA’s schedule). Deferrals are not eligible for refunds, but are subject to an administrative deferral fee which is due and payable at the time of the request. Students may defer a course to the next semester ONLY, based upon approval from the Education Council Chairman.

Deferral of Examinations

Written notification of deferral requests must be sent to the CARAIFA Secretariat via local associations NO LATER THAN ONE WEEK PRIOR TO EXAMINATION. For an examination to be deferred the student must fulfil the course requirement. All deferrals are subject to an administrative deferral fee which is due and payable at the time of the request. Any request for deferral after the deadline will be denied.
